The last post! πŸ“πŸ“œ

Hi bloggers! This is the final post, so I’m going to make a little summary of the English class.
I really like the English class at the university, is very different of the English class at school because I can have more freedom and I think that I really use English instead of study it only for a test and then forget it. I think that writing blogs are a good way to practice our redaction and to read the blogs of our classmates are a good form to improve our comprehension.
I think that my English is good but not the best. I know that I should improve my speaking because it isn’t very fluid so I will try to take other courses of English outside or inside the university and I also would like to live in another country for a few years, where I could practice my English every day.
To be honest, I don’t use English every day because I don’t really need it in a normal day. In a normal day I use English when I sing or when I watch a movie without reading the subtitles. My mom always asks me and my sister (who has perfect English) that we teach to her because she wants to learn English, so we often speak in English at home.
Another important situation which I use English y to do some reports, in which I have to read a lot of scientific articles which are written in English so I think to know English is something very important and useful  for the different aspects of  life.

Well, that’s it! Goodbye readers!

A little bit of Antumapu and my career 🌻🏫

Hi bloggers! Today I’m going to talk to you about the study program of this career, engineering in natural and renewable resources, and some other thinks that I consider important for someone who wants to join this career or to this campus.
First I want to talk about the study program. This career length 5 years officially, but most of the people finished it in 6 years. You may ask why does this happen? Well I’m in first year so I can’t answer that question yet but I think it’s because there are a lot of difficult subjects, like in all the careers!
First year has been really hard; most of the subjects are very difficult so you must spend a lot of time studying, it’s never enough!
I’ve realized about a problem: most of the teachers are agronomist, so most of the subjects aren’t really focused on this career!
Let’s talk about the campus: Antumapu it’s a beautiful place! There are a lot of green areas, nature, farmlands and dogs! There is also a little farm where you can go whenever you want!
But there are also bad things, such as: the bad infrastructure of the library, there aren’t accesses for disabled people and something very important is missing: the safety of the students and of all the community because everybody can get into the campus so robs happen frequently and also assaults.

In spite of everything, I love this campus because the bird songs and the green atmosphere make this place better than lots of campus!

Summer Holidays!

Hi bloggers! Today I am going to write you about the thing that I most wish: summer vacations!!
This has been the most stressful year for me, my first year of University so I think I deserve very good vacations!
During the last week of January my friends of school and I are going to go to my plot near Concepcion, there we can swim at the pool or at the river and we can also go trekking through the forest. At nights we can turn on a wood fire!
The first two weeks of February I am going to spend time with my mom, we are going to visit some places near Concepcion because there we have my cousin’s wedding and then we are going to spend a week in Ranco lake which is very beautiful and it’s also perfect for swimming.
The last two weeks of February I will visit Coquimbo region with my dad, we want to camp in Elqui valley, where we want to visit an astronomical observatory, we also want to camp in Punta de Choros, where we want to do scuba diving. In that region I want to visit again Fray Jorge National park, because is a very interesting place, in fact, is a vestige of the last glaciation.
I want to visit Huerquehue national park because I’ve seen a lot of pictures of it and it looks so beautiful! So I’m going to try to convince my mom to visit it!

Here I left you a picture of Huerquehue National Park.

Healthy plants!πŸŒ±πŸ™‹πŸ€

Hi Bloggers!!  Today’s topic is Medicinal Plants!
You may think that I know about plants because I have Botanical classes but the true is that I really don’t know about them! I mean, I know but not much, I only know the names of a few plants and that’s it. I’m sorry if I disappoint you.
All I know about medicinal plants is because of my mom, she knows a lot about it because she loves plants. In fact, she has a small orchard in the backyard so I only use medicinal plants that are in there.
If I have a stomach ache I drink an infusion of Poleo, what is a kind of mint.
If I have a period ache I drink an infusion of oregano.
If I’m stressed I drink an “agΓΌita de Melissa”, which is used to have a good sleep.
My mom usually drinks infusions of ginger because she says that is good for the organism.
Another interesting plant for me is “Tebo”; some people say that is good to treat cancer, my grandmother used to drink infusions of this plant because she had a stomach cancer. I would like to know how really effective is this plant to treat cancer!
I would like to know more about medicinal plants so I think that someday I’m going to take a special course of this, it would be very useful.

Here I left you a picture of Poleo, if you didn’t know it

My future studies!πŸ“–πŸ“πŸ«

Hi bloggers! Today I’m going to write about the future studies that I would like to do!
To begin this blog I want to say that I’m in first year of engineering in natural and renewable resources so I really don’t know what area of my career is the most interesting for me but I have a notion of what I might like, it would be the renewable energies.
I would like to specialize myself in this area because Chile is in an energetic crisis, the demand is bigger than the offer which brings as a consequence the search of different sources of energy because electric companies aren’t enough. Another consequences of this are the long lines of high voltage which cross all over the country to connect the big cities with the sources of energy, they generate deforestation and pollution to the environment.

I would like to study abroad, I know Germany is the best choice because there are the best’s formations in natural resources but it is really expensive too so If I can’t do this I would like to study in Spain what is a good option too.  I would like to take part-time classes because I could work to pay the costs of the studies and I could also save money to travel around Europe before  I come back to Chile.

My future as a professional πŸ‘©πŸ’Ό

To think about my future is something that scared me because I don’t have a clear idea of what I’m going to do.
First I wanted to study Geology at this University since I was a little girl because it always seems interesting to me to study the rocks and the past of our planet but my PSU points weren’t enough for that career so I decided to study engineering in renewable natural resources. Now I realized that I love this career and that this is what a want for my future but being honest I don’t know much about the job possibilities because this career doesn’t have a determined area, it is about a lot of topics and different sciences, I’m in first year so I don’t have clear what area do I like most.
I think that maybe I would like the investigation area because I think it might be interesting or maybe the renewable energies area to implement them in all over the country, especially in rural and isolated communities; it would be the best for me!

I wish my future job can be outdoors because that is one of the main reasons I decided to study this career. I would also like that my job allowed me to live out of Santiago because it’s my project life. If my future job also allowed me to travel a lot it would be perfect!

My lovely pets!πŸ’žπŸΆ

Hi bloggers! Today I’m going to write about something very special for me: My pets!!!

I have two beautiful dogs called Maqui and Mora, Maqui is a poodle and Mora was a stray dog.
Many people asked me why did a choose these names and the reason is because I have a plot near Concepcion and the most predominant vegetation is Maqui and Blackberry (Zarzamora).
Maqui is with me since he was 2 months old, he is like my son.
Mora, also called “Chica”, was a stray dog; I adopted her when she was two years old. She was a little bit aggressive and very distrustful but now she has become into a lovely and playful dog!
At the beginning I didn’t want to adopt Mora, I just wanted to sterilized her and then giving her in adoption, but as the time passed I started to grow fond of her so now she is part of the family!
Nowadays both, Maqui and Mora, are an essential part of my life, they make my days happier than before and now I can’t imagine my life without them. I don’t know if this is normal or not but I don’t really care! J  I think that animals deserve all the respect and love of the world!

Do you have pets? If you have, what kind of pets are?
